Tax Increment Financing (TIF) and Its Impact on Property Values and Employment | Murray State University (Owensboro, KY) | This capstone project evaluated whether TIF designations intended to revitalize a blighted urban area effectively spurred economic development. Using quantitative and qualitative analysis, Bridget identified a practically significant, positive impact of the designation on property values and employment that contributed to the nuanced understanding of TIF’s role in urban development. Bridget identified the opportunities and challenges associated with TIF implementation, offering insights to policymakers, urban planners, and community stakeholders for future economic development strategies.
