Sandlin has leveraged 12 years of tech experience into a career pivot now focused on supporting municipal and regional economic growth. Sandlin brings an uncommon combination of analytical rigor, systems thinking, and genuine curiosity about people and place to her work in economic development. Before joining Camoin Associates, she spent nearly a decade managing complex, multi-stakeholder programs at Salesforce and Tableau.
Sandlin believes the most durable economic development strategies are ones that take seriously what a place already is (its working waterfronts, its former mill sites, its aging downtowns, its seasonal economies) and build from that foundation rather than around it. She is drawn to the complexity of communities navigating real tradeoffs between growth, identity, and long-term resilience.
Sandlin recently joined Camoin Associates. Most of her featured projects were performed in previous roles.
Economic Resilience Case Study | Camoin Associates | City of Stonington, ME | To help other communities in the region understand how to operationalize resiliency, Sandlin wrote a case study about Stonington, the poster child for Maine’s resiliency. She completed stakeholder interviews, collected and analyzed survey data, and wrote a report that has been used by other communities considering their own paths to economic and community resilience.
Brewery Waste Diversion Analysis | New England Environmental Finance Committee (NEEFC) | Rhode Island | Breweries across New England struggle to affordably and safely dispose of high-strength liquid waste that results from the brewing processes. As an intern for NEEFC, Sandlin conducted stakeholder interviews and site visits and investigated contracts with wastewater treatment facilities and models for waste management from other regions. She then wrote a policy analysis report to offer guidance to stakeholders on both sides of the issue.
Maine Municipal Solar Opportunity | Solect Energy | New England | Solect Energy is a solar developer with a focus on mid-sized projects that often appeal to larger commercial customers or municipalities. As part of its expansion efforts into Maine, Sandlin completed stakeholder interviews, a policy review, and market analysis of the municipal opportunity in Maine. The final report went on to influence Solect Energy’s business strategy in Maine.
