Business Attraction Blueprint and Marketing Strategy for Montgomery County, NY

The Challenge

Montgomery County, NY, sought to further understand its economic situation, emerging economic trends, opportunities, and competitive positioning coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic and the ever-changing economic climate.

Montgomery County wanted clear direction in the form of recommendations about their target industry strategies to fine-tune business expansion and attraction through strategic actions and marketing campaigns.

The Solution

The County hired Camoin Associates to design a business attraction blueprint with a prospecting campaign road map. Our consulting team took a holistic approach to understanding Montgomery County’s key strengths and opportunities to identify targeted industries and develop a road map that identified marketing tactics, priority levels, resources, and timeframes.

To inform business attraction efforts, our business engagement team tracked traffic on the County’s website to generate intelligence and leads for business attraction. Camoin Associates worked with Spiral Marketing to design marketing materials for each targeted sector.

The Impact

Montgomery County used the business attraction blueprint, marketing strategy, and marketing materials to redesign and reorganize their economic development website to showcase data and information that prospective businesses and site location consultants look for in a user friendly and accessible way.

The County then retained Camoin Associates to support them in a 12-month marketing campaign using our ProspectEngage™ tool to drive traffic to the new website, track website activity, and identify warm leads for business attraction.

We integrated the target industries identified in our analysis into the platform and generated potential prospects and warm leads from industries, such as Advanced Manufacturing and Food Manufacturing.
