The Challenge

The Nassau County Industrial Development Agency (NCIDA) in New York state is focused on working towards goals of stronger analytics, detailed tracking, and increased transparency for the projects it assists. NCIDA’s various incentive programs have resulted in significant benefits for Nassau County and the organization was interested in more effectively communicating these benefits to the public and other stakeholders.

The Solution

To complement ongoing impact analyses of individual projects, cumulative analyses of annual activity, and static infographics, the IDA commissioned Camoin Associates to create a dynamic data dashboard that can be updated in real time. Camoin Associates developed an interactive dashboard using Microsoft Power BI to track project impacts.

The Impact

The dashboard now lives on the NCIDA’s website and is updated in real time as projects are closed. This is used by NCIDA to track, measure, and communicate the agency’s impact clearly and concisely. Key economic impact-related metrics are available on a project-by-project or a cumulative basis.
